Welcome to NICATISA 2025 – Message from the Convener – Olufemi Boyede, CITP
On behalf of our principal partners, the House of Representatives Committee on Nigeria-Canada Parliamentary Friendship Group, Federal Republic of Nigeria, we are delighted to welcome you to the inaugural Nigeria-Canada Trade and Investment Summit & Awards (NICATISA), taking place from August 24–26 in this vibrant city of Toronto, Canada.
NICATISA 2025 represents a bold step in advancing economic, cultural, and strategic ties between Nigeria and Canada. Originally conceived as a platform to deepen Nigeria-Canada bilateral trade and investment relations, the overwhelming interest shown by other African countries and the Caribbean community in Canada has inspired us to broaden the scope. We are excited to announce that this vision will now expand to include these vital stakeholders as we shape a more inclusive, intercontinental dialogue on trade and investment.
With the theme “Bridging Continents: Fostering Inclusive Trade and Investment Partnerships,” this Summit brings together key government institutions, development partners, private sector leaders, diaspora investors, and innovators to chart new paths for sustainable collaboration.
Over the next three days, we invite you to engage in impactful conversations, explore the exhibits, and contribute to the shared goal of inclusive prosperity. This Summit also celebrates diversity and champions youth and women as drivers of innovation, growth, and transformative leadership.
Looking Forward
As we look to the future, NICATISA is poised to evolve into a dynamic platform that not only strengthens Nigeria-Canada relations but also embraces the broader Africa-Caribbean community. We envision NICATISA becoming a cornerstone for fostering inclusive economic growth, cultural exchange, and sustainable development across these regions. Your participation today lays the foundation for a more connected and prosperous tomorrow. We shall leverage the collective over a century of knowledge, experience, and stake in the business environments of Africa, Europe, North America, and the Caribbean to deliver solutions to the major challenges limiting trade, investment, and business exchanges across our space.
This event, once a mere vision, borne out of the very useful engagements during the first-of-its-kind inter-parliamentary exchange mission by the House Committee to their counterparts in Ottawa in October 2024, has become a reality thanks to the unwavering support and dedication of countless individuals and organizations. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who have contributed – be it through planning, sponsorship, partnership, or participation. Your collective efforts have been instrumental in bringing NICATISA 2025 to life.
Thank you for joining us at NICATISA 2025. Your presence affirms our shared commitment to building bridges across continents for mutual growth and opportunity.
Warm regards,
Olufemi Boyede, CITP
